"We have a 130 years old villa in Parnell, Auckland. She had gone through many incarnations and by the time we were ready to restore her, she was decidely shabby. We wanted to retain her old world charm whilst bringing her into the 21st century. We were concerned about the cost, knowing that unlike building a house from scratch you cannot expect a firm quote. Above all, we wanted a first-class job.
Geordie said they were up for it and they undertook to give us a budgeted breakdown with progress calculations as the work proceeded from start to finish. It quickly became apparent that the Coastal Builders team are craftsman; proud of their workmanship and justifably so. Their subcontractors and others were engaged because they set the same high standard for themselves. Now it is over and we have a top class home to move in to.
And the money? Well, there were some overruns; but we were alerted to these early on, discussed them and approved them. So no shocks, and the overruns were significantly offset by reductions in other areas, as Geordie promised. The project was a challenge, but the professional approach of the boys made it a delight."

"After being let down by our original builder at the last minute, we were fortunate enough to be put in contact with Coastal Builders. Being a person with high expectations, it wasn't long before we realized we had the right team for the job.
The initial renovation of one of our childcare centres consisted of a total re-roof and an addition almost half the size of the original building. All this was done while the centre was still in operation. Coastal Builders were extremely co-operative and were always conscious of the safety of the children and the staff.
While the main project was underway it wasn't long before we were increasing the initial renovations to include a new kitchen, a deck, replace three windows and extra re-gibbing. They also relocated a shed, built a sandpit and fence, and regrassed a play area. They accommodated this work willingly even though they had to re-schedule their work.
From this point on we have used Geordie for several alterations to our other centres, some major and some minor. We have no hesitation in recommending Coastal Builders for renovations, alterations, additions or just maintenance large or small. Coastal Builders spent nine months refurbishing our house in Remuera. We found Geordie Davidson to be knowledgeable and experienced in all aspects, including managing his team, liaising with Council, Architects, interior designers, sub contractors etc., and listening and understanding me; the client.
